Do you build my site for me, or can I do it all myself?
Either you enter all your text and images yourself using your secure Administration area, or you can have us create your initial site and you provide the finishing touches. You can easily edit your site's pages anytime, as often as you wish.

How do I place the images on my site?
You upload images residing on your computer to your website. As you upload the images, they can be resized and rotated for you to work on your site automatically. If images you wish to use are published anywhere on the internet, you may save them to your computer and use them, as long as the images are jpegs and are large enough (generally 250 pixels wide).

Where do I put my web pages and files?
Your Administration area automatically uploads all your files to the correct areas. You don't have to worry about organizing or setting up your website.

Will my Admin area work on a Macintosh?
Yes, you can access your Admin area from almost any computer with Internet access.

Are there any "hidden fees"?
No. There are no "start up" fees or other hidden or gimmicky fees. The $22.95 per month charge is all there is and that includes your website, your email and your hosting.

What are meta-tags and can I have them? How do they benefit me?
Yes, you can easily use them. Meta-tags, specifically the "keyword" and "description" variety, work to help your site get better results in many search engines. You can place keyword and description meta-tags right into your ArtHost.biz site's pages.

The "description" meta-tag is what some search engines will use to display in a results page to describe your page, so that you can determine what the description beneath your link says to a searcher.

The "keyword" meta-tag is what the search engine itself uses to guage how much of a match your particular page is a match to what the searcher entered in when they performed their search.

What are page titles and can I have them? How do they benefit me?
Perhaps even more important than the above meta-tags are page titles. ArtHost.biz allows you to TITLE your pages to optimize search engine results. When someone searches for something on a search engine, a large part of why a certain page is returned in the results has to do with the page title, much as you might pick a book off a shelf at the library based on it's title. The ability to create titles for your pages is very powerful and important.

Do you host foreign domain names?
Yes. All domain names will work with ArtHost.biz accounts.

Will you sell my information?
Never. We will use your information to bill you or contact you if you are having a problem. That's all! We will never give or sell any information about you, ever, unless there is a lawfully issued subpoena from a court with jurisdiction. We are not like some very well know, large ISP's. We won't open our doors to anyone who wants to investigate you or your patrons, and we won't agree to allow Carnivore to read anyone's mail, and we certainly won't give away or sell your email address.

Will you place advertisements on my site?
Absolutely not. We will not place banner ads, pop-up ads, etc. on your website. There will be a very small text only link to ArtHost.biz on the very bottom of your pages.

Why do you include a "Links" page?
Besides just a very good thing to have that just about no other service offers—after all the internet is all about links—we include a "Links" page to facilitate link exchanges as it is much easier to get someone to agree to put a link to your website on their website when you can repay the favor. And, this also helps get you higher search engine rankings! Today it is very important to have links to your website from other websites—not only so people can visit your from those websites that link to you—but also because Google and other search engines boost your rankings in search results if you have more websites linking to yours. How does the shopping cart feature work?
Orders are kept in your Secure Admin area, where they can be viewed, sorted, archived and printed out. Site owners will receive an email notification once an order has been placed, but the credit card will not be charged at that time, allowing for contacting the customer if an item is temporarily out of stock, or a slightly different variation from what is on the website is available as there may be many one-of-a-kind items. There is no need for a payment gateway / merchant account beyond what you already have set up in your store, as orders can be processed through your terminal as if someone has purchased an item from within your physical store.

Do you offer dial-up Internet access?
No, our focus is on offering a complete website, email and hosting solution. You must acquire your own Internet access. We would suggest a provider that includes an SMTP service.

Can I host my own site which has already been built?
No, our focus is on offering a combined website, email and hosting solution.

How do I change my password?
If you still know your password, you can login to your Admin area and click "Change Password" in the Account » Company Information section.

If you forgot your password, you can go to the login page and request that you password be sent to the contact email that you supplied when you signed up.

Will you market my site for me?
We do not promote individual websites. We have however assembled resource links that you will find very helpful on a variety of online marketing topics and strategies, and also check out the links exchange forum available to members.  Also, our monthly newsletter often contains tips and resources on how to promote your site.  In today's competitve and crowded internet, it can be very difficult to get at the top of the search engine rankings.   

What if all my graphics are not ready?
No problem—skip any items that you are not ready to deal with. Then you can return to your Admin area anytime later when you are ready to post any graphics as they become available.

How do I get my site registered with search engines?
For Google, click here. For others just go to your favorite search engine and look for an "Add URL" link somewhere on the page. Then click that and submit your site using their form. Some search engines, however, like Yahoo, can charge hundreds of dollars to get registered and they do not guarantee that your site will ever be returned in any search results.
