What is Web hosting?
In order for a website to be available on the Web, it must be housed on a
Web server. Web hosting is included with all ArtHost.biz accounts, along with
email hosting.
What kind of servers do you have?
Our servers use 2.26 GHz Intel processors with 1GB RAM, running Windows 2003 Server and Microsoft
IIS 6.0. They employ RAID fail-over technology to ensure continuous
operation in the event of hard disk failure.
What kind of software do you use?
We use Active Server Pages (ASP) to dynamically deliver your web pages, along
with a proprietary software component optimized for speed. We use a SQL Server
2000 database to store and deliver your content. All our software is
developed and maintained by Microsoft Certified personnel.
What kind of internet connection do you have?
Our webservers are connected directly to an internet backbone
via redundant, fault-tolerant
and private T-3 data lines.
Do you perform backups?
Yes. We perform nightly backups of databases and website files. These backups are stored on a separate server. Backups over 7 days old are deleted. If you need to extract files from a backup please contact technical support as soon as possible.
What are the usage / data limits / quotas?
The largest image file size that you are permitted to upload is 750K.
Images larger than this will cause dis-proportionate bandwidth usage, and lead
to your patrons not waiting for pages to load.
All accounts have
100 megabytes of server space, and unlimited data transfer.
What kind of up-time do your servers have?
Well maintained equipment and a responsive server administration team keep
our server up-time at around 99.5%.
